Sedimentary successions and their study are key for unravelling depositional processes, reconstruct environments and systems and discover geological events that occurred in the past of the Earth. In this session promoted by the Italian Association of Sedimentary Geology (GeoSed), we want to encourage researchers to present their latest breakthrough in the field of Stratigraphy and Sedimentology, their application to the environment, climate to the finding of mineral resources and to the mitigation of risks related with catastrophic events. The session is also devoted to analysis of strata and sequences by using advanced techniques and outcrop and subsurface modelling.
