One of the goals of the ecological transition outlined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda is the adoption of sustainable materials and industrial production and consumption models. In this context, geomaterials play a crucial role in promoting sustainable development through the lens of a circular economy. Achieving these goals involves not only testing innovative geomaterials but also exploring new applications for existing ones. Therefore, delving into technological innovations that make geomaterials more sustainable, starting from detailed investigations of virgin or second raw materials, has become a key focus of scientific research. This session invites (especially young researchers) to present scientific contributions addressed to the applications of various geomaterials (e.g., zeolite, feldspar, clay minerals, layered double hydroxides, inert aggregates, construction demolition waste, mining and industrial byproducts and others) for different contexts: from industrial to building fields or for the restoration and conservation of Cultural Heritage.
